    Political Organizations

      Are Political organizations (In my clients case an Australian Political Organization) allowed to sign up to Google Apps for Work? And if so are they treated as a not-for-profit?

          Hi Shaun Haddrill,

          See Nonprofit product offerings by country - Nonprofits Help where many times Google leverages established NPO tech partners like Techsoup.org to identify if you are qualified.

          Long story short, does your NPO qualify for techsoup? https://validation.techsoup.org/googlefornonprofits/au.html and look at ConnectingUp Connecting Up | Unleash the Power of Your Not-for-Profit which I think is the local techsoup partner for the land of Kangaroos.

          Read those requirements, jump through their hoops and good luck!

          Regards,

          KAM

          Are you eligible for Google for Non-Profits?

          Make sure your organisation meets the following requirements:

          1. Google is working with TechSoup Global to provide access to Google products and services. To be eligible for the Google for Nonprofits program, organizations must:
            • Have a validated account with TechSoup's local partner. (Not currently a member of TechSoup? Register here).
            • Be an Australian Charity or Not-For-Profit
            • Acknowledge and agree to the application's required certification regarding nondiscrimination and donation receipt of use.
          2. Please note that the following organisations are not eligible for Google for Non-Profits:
            • Governmental entities and organisations;
            • Hospitals and health care organisations;
            • Schools, childcare centres, academic institutions and universities (philanthropic arms of educational organisations are eligible). To learn more about Google's programmes for educational institutions, visit Google in Education.
          3. Google reserves the right to grant or deny an organisation's application or participation at any time, for any reason, and to supplement or amend these eligibility guidelines at any time. Selections are made at Google's sole discretion and are not subject to external review.

          Important Eligibility Details:

          At present, Google for Nonprofits is open only to organizations in the countries listed here.

          Organizations based in other countries can view Google'scountry-specific programs for nonprofits.

          Australian nonprofits: To be considered for inclusion in the Google for Nonprofits program, Australian organizations must register an account with Connecting Up, the regional arm of TechSoup Global. You can review your organization's current status at https://validation.techsoup.org/googlefornonprofits/au.html. Please note that we only allow one Google for Nonprofits membership per organization registered with Connecting Up.
